About Dave
Dave is both a college professor and a practitioner of eclectic shamanism. He earned his Ph.D. from Washington State University in 1989, but he started studying shamanism long before that. He took his first trip to Bolivia in 1971 where he spent two years establishing adult literacy centers for Bolivians for whom Spanish was not their native tongue, and where he learned both Spanish and Quechua. He met his primary shamanic mentor, don Juan Carlos, at that time. He has continued to travel and work in South America and has spent close to a decade living and working in Latin America and Mexico. He speaks fluent technical Spanish and very rusty Quechua. He has also lived, worked and studied in several of the former republics of the U.S.S.R., the Middle East, and Eastern Europe.
